Builds on Agency’s Previous Recognition in 2011 From Hermes Creative Awards
NEW YORK – Stanton Public Relations & Marketing today announced the agency has won three 2011 MarCom Awards, including one Platinum Award, the competition’s top honor. The MarCom Awards recognize outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communications professionals.
The Platinum Award was given in the Publicity Campaign category for Stanton’s promotion of a small business microloan program offered by its client Boston Beer Company, maker of Samuel Adams beer. Stanton worked to secure media interviews for Jim Koch, Boston Beer’s chief executive officer. The successful effort included placements with The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Street, CNBC, Bloomberg Radio and others. About 18 percent of MarCom entries this year won the Platinum Award.
Also in the Publicity Campaign category, Stanton also a Gold Award for a year-long program on behalf of STMicroelectronics, one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies. Stanton promoted and positioned the STMicro for industry-specific achievements and enhanced its corporate profile, leading to feature coverage in top-tier media, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, the Financial Times, Reuters and the Associated Press.
Stanton also received a Gold Award in the Writing category for the writing and placement of a bylined article by Winthrop-University Hospital President and Chief Executive Officer John Collins that appeared in Modern Healthcare magazine. The article discussed the importance of using technology to improve safety in hospitals.
Administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, the MarCom Awards received more than 6,000 entries this year from throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
The trio of awards marked the second time this year that Stanton was honored in a leading industry awards competition. Stanton received two Hermes Creative Awards, which recognize creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies.
In the Hermes competition, Stanton won a Platinum Award in the Media Relations/Magazine Placement category for a feature article in The Deal magazine on private equity firm Pine Brook Road Partners. The article focused on Pine Brook’s managers and its approach to investing. Also, Stanton received a Gold Award from Hermes in the PR Campaign category for work on behalf of the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. Stanton’s media relations and thought leadership program for Farmer resulted in placements in The New York Times, Forbes, Dow Jones, MSNBC.com and national broadcast segments, including Bloomberg Radio.
